Allison Ross - Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Allison is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist with specialist training in Couple Therapy. She offers a Holistic and Integrative approach to both Couples and Individuals, drawing on many therapeutic models and theories. This includes Attachment Theory; Emotion Focused Therapy; Focusing Orientated Therapy; Transpersonal Psychology; Rogerian Theory; Mindfulness; Neuro Science; and Family Systems Theory. Alongside her extensive training and experience, Allison provides a compassionate and calming presence in the room. This allows you to feel supported to explore feelings and attend to the difficulties you may be experiencing.

Allison offers therapeutic tools that facilitate a ‘working through’ of challenges and connection to your inner wisdom and self-compassion. In turn this creates a deeper understanding of the source of the problem. This therapeutic process empowers you to make choices that are based on self-knowledge and a sense of security within. Times of crisis can then become significant turning points in your healing and self-development, and in learning to live a fuller life on your own terms and on equal terms with important others.

Allison sees her role as that of a companion and witness. She supports you, and also hopes to inspire you, to take small yet very effective steps towards ‘showing up’ for yourself. Allison is committed to providing you with the best in self-care that therapy can offer.

Allison’s training and qualifications include a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education; an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling; Specialist Course in Integrative Couple Therapy; Certificate in Holistic Counselling; Certificate in Holistic Flower Essence Therapy; Certificate in Energy Healing: Emotional Freedom Technique; and Experiential Focusing, levels 1, 2 and 3. She is an associate member of Holistic Therapists Australia Inc.
